What a year!

Okay, I admit it, I have done a HORRIBLE job with the blog this year! I had the best of intentions but somehow 1 day turned into 1 week turned into 1 month and there never seemed to be enough time! It has been a fantastic year for me both personally and professionally. In the midst of a struggling economy, I was so blessed to be doing a “job” that I absolutely LOVE. Thank you to my wonderful clients for your loyalty and continued business! As always, if you have any feedback for me, please let me know.

I have a few New Year’s resolutions. First, I am running my first half-marathon in May. The training has begun and I write this with very, very sore legs! I never thought I would be a “runner” but I am enjoying the challenge physically and mentally. Another resolution is to stress less. We shall see how that one goes. I won’t bore you with the rest, but this blog is also on my list. Check back to see how I’m doing.

first day of summer…

Today was such a great day! The boys are done with school, we are back from Disney, and it feels like summer has really started. The past few months my boys have all been begging to help me at the studio. I decided they are all old enough that it just might work for some sessions. Yesterday Keaton, my oldest (age 11 1/2), helped me with shoots in both Seward and Lincoln. He did GREAT and I enjoyed spending time just the two of us. This morning, my youngest, Micah (turning 8 in 3 weeks), helped with two sessions in Seward. He carried my Radio Flyer fire truck, helped make the kids smile, let me tickle him, chased the kids, and did such a great job! I was pinching myself the whole time at how much fun my “job” is and feeling so blessed that as the boys get older, they can continue to be a part of my business. Spending time with them in this way was simply- fun. Tomorrow is Connor’s turn so stay tuned for an update on how that goes!

faces of studio e contest

Announcing our very first Facebook fan page contest, the “faces of studio e.” We are asking anyone to enter the contest by uploading a photo of their child. It can be a fun photo, artistic idea, or just a picture that really shows your child’s personality. We are accepting entries through the end of April. From May 1-14, anyone can vote (once per day). Finalist will be selected and the studio e staff will select the top winner as well and 2nd & 3rd place. The winner will receive a complimentary session, $500 in portraits from studio e, and a large wall portrait of their child displayed in our studio window. 2nd and 3rd prize winners will also receive a complimentary session and $150 in portraits. All 3 top winners will be announced as the “faces of studio e.” We are so excited for this contest and hope many of you enter!!! Click here for our fan page…

senior guest book

Check out this AWESOME new guest book designed by Dana Cotter with dazcot dezign! She is so talented! We are so excited our seniors will have this book to display at their graduation open house. Guests can write notes and well wishes to the grad and look at the senior’s favorite photos at the same time. Then, long after graduation is over, the senior can open the book back up and look all of the guests’ notes to him/her. What an awesome keepsake from this important day! another darling collage

I mentioned a couple of weeks ago how our talented graphic designer, Tannon, creates darling collages for many clients. She just sent me this one and I had to share it with you! This is baby #3 for this family and we created a similiar collage for both big brothers. That is definitely a benefit of using the same photographer year after year… we can create matching or coordinating wall art for your family. fall days

I had so much fun photographing this couple on their beautiful acreage. The leaves were the perfect color on this warm October afternon. Dave & Kathleen love spending time walking on several paths and down their long driveway so it was the perfect location for their photo session. There were several pictures they really wanted to display so we created this canvas collage for them to hang in their home. I am sure they will enjoy it for many years to come!
